'TENDER NODE_detail
This 1:20 building envelope model explores the material and spatial identity of the “Tender Node” through the adaptive reuse of shipping containers sourced from the closure of Pop Brixton. The envelope acts not only as a protective skin for the building, but also as a narrative element that connects the project directly to Brixton’s cultural memory and urban history. By repurposing the existing container panels as cladding, the design emphasizes sustainability, circular construction, and material reuse. The weathered surfaces, industrial textures, and modular qualities of the containers preserve the visual language of Pop Brixton while transforming it into a new architectural purpose. As a result, the building becomes both a financial and social node for the community, carrying forward the spirit of a landmark that once activated Brixton’s creative and entrepreneurial culture.
